This is new and exciting!

When I am teaching students in the private Facebook Group that I host, one of my favorite things to do is use my Apple Pencil to “mark up” the students painting to better illustrate my commentary when they ask for help. Usually I do this with new students so that I can be sure that we are speaking apples to apples. I also want to make sure that my trouble shooting guidance doesn’t leave any questions, so the mark-ups really help.

Over the years, I have posted extra content in the group where I mock up my own artwork, as it progresses and used the pencil to explain my editing choices. It’s easy to post a finished painting for everyone to interpret, but it’s a LEARNING point if everyone not only sees the finished painting, but the progress photos with the mark-up AND the explanation of the steps. I LOVE that.

The response when I post these progression videos in my group is very positive! Students mention how helpful it is to see the process and they pick up on things they may have forgot. I am now pleased to offer these videos for free to all of my workshops students via the Facebook Group as well as to non-students who may just want to take a listen to what my teaching style is like.

If you would like to purchase the videos, which come with a full color handout of the progression photos so that you can take notes as you watch, please click here. Once you submit your payment, you will be emailed a link (immediately) which includes the download. The link to the video is inside. Follow it and you will be off and running into the wonderful world of vibrant abstract painting. 😊

I think they are GOLD if you are learning to compose abstracts!
