What Kind of Artist Are You?

Yesterday I received a beautiful treat in the mail... I ordered a set of Sennelier Oil Pastels. Up until now, I have only ever purchased one or two of these at a time, now I have a glorious set. They cost a small fortune, but to me, the life span of my art is important.. I only buy "Artist Quality" materials because I want to make sure that my artwork does not fade or deteriorate.. so the extra expense up front makes me feel better in that regard. If someone purchases a painting of mine, I want to make sure they enjoy it for a really really really really (you get the idea) long time.

For some reason, I think the new art supplies are just about as exciting as their packaging. Across my studio table, I see my pens, pencils, crayons and paints all lined up like soldiers... lined up in their original box or tin, ready for their next assignment... and then I remember this picture I shot in an artist studio in Balboa Park a while a go (pictured above).. a heap...a large bin.. of broken pastels in a pile with no rhyme or reason... it kind of makes me a little uncomfortable. Soooo.... I want to ask you....

Do you dump your supplies into a heap or bag or other case? Or do you keep them nice and tidy in their box? Do you put everything back in its place for the next use? What do you do...tell me. Am I weird? lol
