See the light...

Last week I had the chance to meet up with Chris Cozen in Indian Wells, CA. My family and I headed east to watch professional tennis. During some down time, I walked several art galleries and saw some sights with Chris. I really love the desert... really love it.

In San Diego, we are not snowed in. We rarely have inclement weather.. I am outdoors a lot. However- the lighting in the desert...maybe its how it reflects off the nearby San Jacinto mountains, or the way the dust in the air filters the light... the lighting is beautiful. Colors look different, skin tones look different, everything looks different... photographers mention "golden hour" and lighting a lot.... I can only image that if I were shooting photography out in the desert, there would be no shortage of amazing lighting.

Lighting and the colors we see... everything was more rich...more vibrant... the colors felt more important to me (it's hard to explain because I can't put my finger on exactly what was happening.)

That lighting sparked an unusual interest in green for me.....

More to come.....
