Those Free Videos on YouTube...

Stills taken from the videos for my online art workshops.

I received a nice compliment the other day in one of my painting workshops. The student thanked me for such great video and mentioned she was learning a lot.. She also mentioned that she was so happy she purchased the workshop because seeing me paint in real time was an eye opening experience for her. She said that watching sped-up videos on YouTube made her rush and paint really fast to try and keep up with the person on the video. She couldn't gauge how long things should be taking..because everything was filmed at warp-speed.

You know...I've never thought about that!

In my editing, I will show the viewer how to do a certain stroke or technique two or three times real-time so they can see everything that I am doing.... but I'll actually use those techniques many more times in the same painting, and all of that extra footage is seamlessly edited out for time. I name the technique and repeat it the next time it comes up (or after a break in the video) and then proceed with the painting. Most of my paintings take many hours to complete..  We've got a great system down for editing, if I do say so myself!

You even get pictures like the images above in your PDF with summaries of what we have learned in each lesson...those you can print out and refer to whenever you need to.
